Using the paper to smooth a polymer clay veneer sheet:
Build veneer on glass surface ( so clay adheres to the surface ) example is technique that makes scrap look like fabric:
Here is the veneer, if this was put in the pasta machine to thin the sheet it would distort the pattern because of the uneven slices of clay. Put the paper on the veneer and smooth clay with your fingers:
Make sure the paper sort of adheres to the clay to “capture” the pattern smooth it down with your fingers
Then take an espresso coffee tamper or clay burnisher (optional):
Gently press down the clay for a smooth surface. Be careful to keep the tool straight so not to cause any gauges in the clay.
Without the paper, all smooth and ready for pasta machine or project. Now inserting this into the pasta machine will not alter the pattern.
The veneer can be used to make beads, pendants, cover objects, or even miniature’s clothing (scarf, shirt etc).
